AI ENABLED CREATIONS
AI-ENABLED DESIGN, MOTION, AND EXPERIENCE ARE NOT EXPERIMENTAL TRENDS; THEY ARE THE DEFINING TOOLS OF THE NEXT CREATIVE ERA.
AI image and video generation are evolving at a pace that is actively reshaping the creative landscape. I am deeply engaged with the ways AI can be harnessed as a storytelling tool, expanding the boundaries of visual narrative, accelerating production workflows, and enabling experiences that were previously impossible or cost-prohibitive.
To remain at the forefront of this shift, I actively research new models, experiment with emerging platforms, and integrate AI-enabled tools directly into my creative practice. My approach is not to replace craft with automation, but to augment human creativity with tools that extend what is possible, and to do so with strategic intent.
FEEL THE FLAME
In collaboration with the team at Scorch Agency, I took on the creative challenge of crafting a logo reveal for their newest venture, Flame. With fire already serving as a defining visual element in the Scorch brand, the goal was never to reinvent the wheel; it was to find harmony. Using AI as a generative design tool, I developed a seamless logo reveal that weaves both identities into a single, cohesive visual narrative. The result is a fluid, on-brand animation where Scorch and Flame feel less like two separate logos and more like two sides of the same flame.
CHARACTER RIGGING VS. AI-GENERATED
The rapid evolution of AI is transforming how animation is conceived and produced. Throughout my career, I’ve developed animated characters for promotional campaigns and corporate learning experiences, traditionally building them in tools like Adobe After Effects with rigged bone structures and timeline-based movement. Lip sync was typically handled separately and integrated later, resulting in a multi-step, segmented workflow.
Today, AI streamlines and elevates that entire process. In my ongoing work with Rawlings / Easton sales training content, we’ve transitioned character animation into AI-driven production. This shift enables the creation of both highly realistic and stylized, hand-drawn aesthetics, complete with fluid, natural motion that feels closer to traditional cel animation than segmented vector rigs. The result is a more expressive, efficient, and scalable approach to character-driven storytelling.
ILLUSTRATED SCENARIOS /
AI ANIMATED
Illustration has traditionally been a static medium, but AI is changing that. When you combine custom illustration with AI-driven animation, static drawings become dynamic storytelling tools.
As an illustrator, I’ve often been asked to tell stories visually, usually through custom-illustrated scenes and characters. Until recently, illustration was the most effective way to maintain character consistency and build unique environments without significantly increasing budgets. Stock assets rarely provided consistent characters, and 3D production was often too time-intensive for many projects. Illustration became the best solution for visual storytelling.
Recently, I began incorporating AI; initially for mouth movement and lip sync, and while early results were only decent, the technology has rapidly improved. Now, using illustrated scenes as the foundation, AI can convincingly animate characters and bring entire scenarios to life in ways that simply weren’t possible a short time ago.
This workflow opens the door to a new kind of storytelling, where illustration, animation, and AI come together to create engaging content faster, more flexibly, and with far greater creative possibilities than ever before.
DRAWING IN AI
A recent experiment had me bringing hand-drawn sketches to life through AI, and what started as simple curiosity quickly revealed something more interesting. Yes, I wanted to see my drawings animated, but the deeper discovery was just how powerfully a rough sketch can anchor an AI's output. Rather than cycling through dozens of generations hoping the model stumbles onto your vision, a drawing cuts straight to it. The lines on the page act as a shared language, translating the thought in your head into something the AI can actually read.
The results were compelling: dynamic animations that felt genuinely faithful to the original sketches, and a workflow that was faster and more intuitive than prompting with words alone. It turns out that drawing something, even loosely, is one of the most efficient things you can do before reaching for a prompt.
AI IMAGE/VIDEO GENERATION - EXPLORATION
"Last Chance" is a short AI-generated movie/music video that follows a crew of galactic explorers who uncover more than they ever imagined. Styled with vintage 1950s sci-fi cinema vibes, the film drifts from the thrill of discovery into a spiraling descent into space-induced madness.
Casually crafted over several months, the project evolved alongside the rapidly changing tools used to create it. As new features emerged, the visuals grew more dynamic—and the story shifted with them, expanding into strange, unexpected directions.
The original score is performed live, with one exception: the drummer is AI.
I had way too much fun making this—hope you have half as much fun watching it.
AI GETS ARTSY
Clumsy is an AI image and video project where I set out to explore something more whimsical, stylized, dare I say… artsy. The story follows a featureless scarecrow whose life is a series of fumbles and missteps, each one tossing him into chaotic situations entirely by accident. Yet, in a way, it feels like a journey he’s meant to take—one that leads him to discover who he really is, what makes him unique, and a sense of pride in simply being himself.
It’s a sharp contrast to Last Chance, which leans on nostalgia and playfully spoofs classic early sci-fi adventures. Clumsy carries a darker, moodier tone, but stick with it to the end, and you’ll find it’s ultimately both joyful and triumphant.
